FAQs

I am based in Smiley Dogg Tattoo, 83 North Main Street, Cork City (Ireland).

If I am free at the time you come, sure. But I recommend you to book to make sure you get your piercing or upgraded the day and time you prefer. (To book an appointment click here).

Yes, I do. I start doing lobes from 12 years old with parent consent, and then depending on the piercing, I do them when you are 14-16 (with parent consent) or any from 18 years old.

I work on Saturdays.

Off Sundays.

Yes, around 18:45pm can be the last appointment if it suits you. But you can always ask me through whatsapp and I can arrange something.

I use 6AL4V ASTM F136, 6AL7NB ASTM F1295 and ASTM F136 surgical implant grade titanium.

In other words, the most bio-compatible material to get in piercings. The same than the surgeons use to place bones properly after a breaking.

No, the jewellery I use to pierce it needs to be bio-compatible and sterilized as all other material I use.

Yes, there is plenty of options in titanium and solid gold suitable for fresh piercings available. (These pieces are not included in the price).

I have implant grade titanium and 14kt-18kt gold from reputable brands like Industrial Strenght, Leroi, Auris, Neometal, Anatometal, Tish Lyon, and so on.

No, they can cause piercing bumps, irritation… I always recommend to wait at least 4-6 months to swap it. (Every person is different and the 1st time swapping it should be done in a piercing shop to make sure is ready to be changed).

Each piercing and person are different. With the use of proper technique and materials the pain is totally bearable.

This question is difficult to answer as every person can have different healing times,

just to say something roughly, as per my experience, I would say that piercings can take from 4-6 months to 1 year or even more (to be fully healed).

It depends on the piercing you get and how is looked after.

Besides using saline solution. I recommend to dry (with a hairdryer, cool air) after shower, and being careful while sleeping.

Avoiding pressure is very important to avoid crooked piercings. Don´t turn it or anything like that.

Also, coming back for your check up appointment when is due or if something comes up, contact your piercer to have a quick look.

Sure, you can have a look at more options I have in my Instagram and if you like something and I have it in stock I can send it to you.

This is my recommendation to keep it simple for body piercings.

  • Ensure you wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing.
  • Clean your piercing once a day during 2 months although the piercing can take up to a year to be fully healed.
  • Rinse, wash just a bit, rinse, dry with a hairdryer (cool air) and then apply sterile saline to your piercing and clean with a cotton bud.
  • After 2 months or so it´s recommended to get a downsize bar/labret and follow your piercer instructions.

This is my recommendation for oral piercings.

  • Keep a good oral hygiene after meals with mouthwash alcohol free and brush your teeth.
  • Gently brush the jewelry with a clean toothbrush regularly to avoid plaque build up.
  • Avoid spicy food, alcohol, tobacco while is healing.
  • Very important to go back to your shop after the swelling has gone down to downsize your bar to avoid issues with your teeth, gums. It can take around 1-2 weeks.

Most of the piercings are between 45€ and 60€.

To make it easier that would be the price of the service and jewellery (basic Implant Grade Titanium ASTM F136) altogether.
